Dear Readers,

We are very pleased to announce the completion of RECOFTC’s new Strategic Plan for 2008–2013. RECOFTC’s new direction appropriately responds to the rapid social, political, economic, and environmental changes significantly affecting millions of people living in and around forests. In the Commentary of the Month, RECOFTC Associate Thomas Enters reflects on this strategic shift. During this exciting time for RECOFTC, we are now advertising several key positions to implement the new Plan. Please see Job Opportunities for more details.

This month, we also highlight the role of conflict in forestry and natural resource management.  For information, viewpoints, and upcoming events on this topic, see What We Are Reading, Network of the Month, and Events and Activities.

We appreciate the opportunity to share community forestry-related news. Send your updates and areas of interest to naomi@recoftc.org.
