Training Programs

RECOFTC specializes in training programs that promote equitable community involvement in natural resource management and has developed a comprehensive range of innovative training that stimulates and challenges participants. All RECOFTC courses are designed around the principles of continuous reflection, analysis and learning through doing. Course content  builds upon participants' own experiences and work practices.

Below is a list of current training titles. All these products can all be fully customized to suit particular requirements, contexts, and required outcomes. The training can either be conducted at RECOFTC, Bangkok using our excellent facilities, or in-country.

Technical Orientated Training Products

  • Participatory Mapping for Community-Based Natural Resource Management (under development)
  • Participatory Process, Tools and Techniques (under development)

Organizational and Human Resource Training Products

  • Management Information Systems (MIS) (under development)
  • Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (under development)

Customizing Training to Suit Your Requirements

Training topics are NOT restricted to those listed above and we would be willing to discuss with you the creation of new training topics or modules upon request or adapt existing products to meet particular requirements. We have worked with a wide range of partners and can draw on our networks to develop a training package to suit your needs.

RECOFTC can also adapt training courses to suit the national context and run training programs in the national language by working in collaboration with experienced national trainers or national training organizations. National language training courses are suitable for participant groups that prefer the confidence of native language training, and/or require the course content to be more country specific.

In presenting all our training products, RECOFTC in 2007 is taking a new approach to its training delivery. We are moving away from supply driven training to more innovative, flexible and demand driven training. The in-built flexibility of our training programs allows a broad combination of specialist presentations, case study exploration and analysis, and field visits to highlight the issues in any chosen training theme in community-based natural resource management.
