The international debate around REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) has generated vast amounts of information in a short time. So far, most discussions have involved policy makers, international organizations, and academics. Rarely has clear, thorough, and relevant information about the initiative reached forest stakeholders at the local level. This brief outlines RECOFTC's approach to expanding the information available to grassroots stakeholders, identifying knowledge gaps at the local level and sharing vital information through the Norad-sponsored Grassroots Capacity Building for REDD+ program in Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), Nepal, and Vietnam.
