Training on Sustainable Forest Management for Forest Technicians and Local Resource Persons

The main objective of this training is to facilitate local resource person, forest officials and forest technician in the Terai-Arc Landscape area of western Nepal for sustainable forest management and also focus on developing new local resource persons (LRP’s)

In support of Government Funded Terai-Arc Landscape (TAL) Program, under Ecological Restoration Project ‘Training on Sustainable Forest Management for Forest Technicians and Local Resource Persons’ was initiated in Lamki Chuha of Kailali district in Nepal. The training sessions was facilitated by Green Governance Nepal (GGN) under technical guidance of The Center for People and Forests- RECOFTC, Nepal Country Program.

Ten days long training sessions was held between 14th March 2019 to 23rd March, 2019. Twenty-five participants of which 9 were female and 16 were male participants.

Participants included Local Resource Personnels (LRP’s), government officials from Division of Forest Office of four districts and local government representatives of the involved municipalities participated in the training session.

The main objective of this training was to facilitate local resource person, forest officials and forest technician in the Terai-Arc Landscape area of western Nepal for sustainable forest management and also focus on developing new local resource persons (LRP’s). The training specifically aimed to train the trainers as well as local person to maintain the sustainability of the forest area and its proper and sustainable management.
