RECOFTC Lao PDR works with government, civil society, community and other stakeholders to strengthen the implementation of sustainable forestry practices in the country.
We support the Government of Lao PDR as it works to achieve the UN Global Goals for poverty, hunger, environment, climate change and gender.
With a long-term, landscape-based and inclusive approach to supporting local communities, we have been working with the Government of Lao PDR to build the foundations of community forestry, advance the community forestry sector and implement community forestry programmes since 1998.
Our work helps communities secure land and resource rights, address deforestation, find alternative livelihoods and foster gender equality.
