RECOFTC Nepal works with government, civil society, community and other stakeholders to strengthen the implementation of sustainable forestry practices in the country.

We support the Government of Nepal as it works to achieve the UN Global Goals for poverty, hunger, environment, climate change and gender.

With a long-term, landscape-based and inclusive approach to supporting local communities, we have been working in Nepal since the 1990s to strengthen community resilience and rights as they sustainably manage their forests.

Our work helps communities secure natural resource rights, address deforestation, find alternative livelihoods and foster gender equality.

The local entity, Center for People and Forests, has been operational in Nepal since 2020, helping leverage local partnerships and implement localized initiatives.
