RECOFTC Viet Nam
recoftc-map_vietnam

With a long-term, landscape-based and inclusive approach to supporting local communities, RECOFTC Viet Nam has been laying the groundwork and enhancing the capacity for community forestry in the country since 1987.

Working with government, civil society, community and other stakeholders, we help strengthen the implementation of sustainable landscape management in Viet Nam. Our work helps communities secure land and resource rights, address deforestation, find alternative livelihoods and foster gender equality.

Securing Viet Nam's threatened Nghe An landscape

Nghe An Province is one of Viet Nam's most important biodiversity hotspots, containing 1,235,755 hectares of pristine tropical rainforest, mountain ecosystems and mangrove forests.

Securing Viet Nam's threatened Great Green Corridor in Quang Nam

The Quang Nam landscape in central Viet Nam is part of the Green Corridor that houses some of the country’s richest biodiversity

Community forestry models in Asia-Pacific

An overview of the formal community forestry models in RECOFTC’s seven countries of engagement: Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR), Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand and Viet Nam. It can guide the work of those working on or interested in learning about community forestry, including decision-makers, forestry practitioners and civil society.
