The project aims to create and promote agroforestry-based Community Forestry Enterprise models in Riau, Indonesia. This three-year initiative focuses on developing competitive land-use systems that align with the fibre production supply chain of APRIL, a major pulp and paper company.

The project has three main objectives: developing technical designs for agroforestry schemes, piloting agroforestry models in selected villages and upscaling successful community forestry models. Key activities include using Participatory Action Research to develop agroforestry models, creating inclusive business plans, implementing pilot sites and developing strategies for broader implementation. The project also aims to improve networking and partnerships while providing training and capacity-building for APRIL facilitators and local communities, contributing to a more sustainable and community-oriented approach to forest management in the region.
