Since 2009 RECOFTC through the Grassroots for Capacity Building for REDD+ in Asia project have been working to develop capacities of local partners in five countries (Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Nepal and Viet Nam) to facilitate awareness raising on and initiatives to deal with climate change and REDD+. The stories captured in this book document the commitment and efforts of dedicated individuals from local communities, organizations, government institutions in ensuring that the grassroots communities are empowered so they can effectively contribute in the ongoing  dialogues, planning and decision making on REDD+ that impacts their communities and forests. The stories of these local champions represent the dedications and achievements of more than 5,000 REDD+ trainers and facilitators in the region that inspire various initiatives to reduce and adapt to impacts of climate change.
