Support of local residents for nature-based tourism development: Evidence from Bach Ma National Park, Vietnam

This study examines how local communities in and around Bach Ma National Park, Viet Nam perceive the socio-economic and environmental impacts of nature-based tourism. Surveying 182 residents, the research finds that positive economic and social effects are the most significant benefits recognized by locals, highlighting the importance of community involvement in sustainable tourism development and protected area management. Higher community involvement also leads to stronger support for nature-based tourism. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and protected area authorities to develop and manage sustainable tourism strategies in and around protected areas.
