About our work in Thailand

About us

RECOFTC Thailand works with government, civil society, community, academia, private sector and other stakeholders to strengthen the implementation of sustainable forestry practices in the country.

We support the Government of Thailand as it works to achieve the UN Global Goals for poverty, hunger, environment, climate change and gender.

With a long-term, landscape-based and inclusive approach to empowering local communities, we have been working closely with governmental and civil society organizations to build the foundations of community forestry in the country and advance Thailand’s community forestry sector since 1987. Our current focus is on developing capacities and nature-based solutions to address climate change and biodiversity loss and promote forest governance.
