REVIVE is a post-fire forest and landscape restoration project that strengthens community-led nature-based solutions for food system transformation in Asia and Latin America. In Asia, the project works through the Regional Model Forest Network–Asia, for which RECOFTC serves as secretariat.

REVIVE–Asia advances locally grounded, financially viable, ecologically appropriate and replicable partnership approaches in post-fire landscapes in Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand.

Working with smallholders, stakeholders and local research partners in each landscape, it uses participatory action research to co-design, pilot and document these solutions across three Model Forests: Margowitan (East Java, Indonesia), Ngao (Lampang, Thailand) and Carood Watershed (Bohol, the Philippines).

By integrating forest landscape restoration and community-based fire management, the project helps tackle land degradation, build fire-resilient landscapes and support more inclusive, equitable and resilient food systems.

REVIVE is carried out in collaboration with the International Model Forest Network Secretariat at Natural Resources Canada with the aid of funding from the Government of Canada’s International Climate Finance Initiative and the International Development Research Centre, Ottawa, Canada.
