This Lao-language paper, developed through research supported by the Explore programme, examines gender dynamics in forest landscape governance through qualitative research in Xiengkhouang and Khammouane provinces. It highlights how gaps between legal frameworks and local practice, alongside gendered divisions of labour and resource access constraints, shape the disproportionate burden on women in forest-dependent communities.
