This Explore-supported research project examines how forest landscape governance can strengthen the forest–water–energy–food nexus in Indonesia's border areas. Using participatory and gender-responsive approaches, the project develops evidence-based strategies to integrate the nexus into local development planning, improve sustainable forest management and strengthen the participation of women and vulnerable groups in natural resource governance.
