Southeast Asia is increasingly threatened by wildfires and haze, driven by human activities and intensified by climate change. These fires harm the environment, public health and local livelihoods, especially for Indigenous Peoples and local communities. To tackle these urgent challenges, APFNet and RECOFTC have launched the Southeast Asia Fire Management Mechanism (SEA-FiMM). SEA-FiMM strengthens regional cooperation, builds fire management capacity and promotes innovative, inclusive solutions to protect people, ecosystems, and the climate.
