Forests are essential to supporting life, livelihoods and the Earth's ecological balance. In the Asia-Pacific region, where communities are deeply connected to forest landscapes, sustainable forest governance is essential for biodiversity, climate resilience and equitable development.

Around the world, there is growing recognition that our climate, biodiversity and sustainable development goals will not be met without inclusive, community-driven solutions. Forests, along with the people who call them home, are central to these solutions.

At a time of rising inequality, conflict, uncertainty and environmental degradation, RECOFTC continues to work where it matters most: on the ground, alongside communities, governments and partners, building trust and capacity, and translating policy into action.

RECOFTC has long been working with communities who live closest to the forests and are their best stewards. For us, recognizing and supporting the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities is not only a matter of justice but a prerequisite for meaningful progress on climate and conservation goals.  

This annual report presents the results of our work. It highlights the achievements and lessons from initiatives in community forestry and inclusive landscape governance. The accomplishments reflected here speak to the dedication of our staff and the strength of our partnerships.
