About our work in Viet Nam

RECOFTC Viet Nam works with government, civil society, community and other stakeholders to strengthen the implementation of sustainable forestry practices in the country.

We support the Government of Viet Nam as it works to achieve the UN Global Goals for poverty, hunger, environment, climate change and gender.

With a long-term, landscape-based and inclusive approach to supporting local communities, we have been building capacities among community members and government officials in the country since 1987. Our initiatives to foster forest governance, improve community livelihoods and strengthen forest landscape restoration have become more robust over the decades.

Our work helps communities secure land and resource rights, address deforestation, find alternative livelihoods and foster gender equality.
